Expert is a clinical laboratory scientist with 30 years of experience in the industry covering laboratories in the hospital, national reference, and large physician office settings. He is the founder of a consulting company which began in 2009. The company's mission is to provide the highest quality consulting services to the physician office laboratory (POL) community. This involves current and accurate scientific and regulatory information to assist the POLs in providing the highest quality laboratory services to their patients. He has extensive experience and is currently the director of a large physician office laboratory (POL) for a ninety physician multi-specialty group practice in central Connecticut. The laboratory serves physician practices at several locations. This independent laboratory is comprised of a central laboratory covering hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, serology, urinalysis; and four “off-site” drawing stations. He has a full budget and capital expense responsibilities. This group practice is affiliated with the hospital of central Connecticut. Expert has previous experience (10/90 to 7/01) as a medical technologist/serological purchaser specializing in microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. This national reference lab specialized in microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics. Immunology/molecular Dept Duties: Immunoassay procedures including EIA, Western Blot, RIBA, IFA, and DFA. PCR, Virology, Antibiotic levels, RIA, and Latex Agglutination. Used Roche Amplicor analyzer, Vidas, Array, Quantum II, TDX, Labotech, Anthos, and PPC. Developed Donor Sourcing program (Immunology). Developed business with the biotech industry. Tick-borne assay development. Negotiated contracts for the purchase of blood products including recovered plasma, serum, clinical trial samples, etc. Chaired Continuing Education Committee. Duties: Responsible for a staff of eleven Medical Technologists, Specimen Processors, and Phlebotomists covering hematology, special chemistry, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis.
