Chemistry
ID: 718421
California, USA
Expert has synthesized new hindered olefins such as tetra neopentylethylene and homoadamantylidenehomoadamantane. He has made synthetic transformations based on oxidizing agents such as higher valency tungsten and molybdenum halides, hydrogen peroxide, bromine, and bromodimethylsulfonium bromide. He is knowledgeable
Expert has synthesized natural product intermediates, including steroids and steroidal intermediates.
Expert reinvestigated and characterized the catalyst of the Max Fisher patent for the polymerization of the alpha-olefins to polyolefins and the Hall and Nash synthesis of aluminum sesquihalides by NMR spectroscopy. He is experienced in handling pyrophoric aluminum alkyls, polyketene synthesis, and new polymerization methods. He has developed new polymers with unusual monomers.
Expert has expertise in the elucidation of the mechanism of methanol oligocondensation by acidic catalysts, hydrocarbon isomerizations using superacids, hydrocarbon functionalization, and the development of hydrocarbon-based fuel cells
He has extensive experience in the interpretation and analysis of NMR spectra, and routinely uses and maintains NMR, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, IR and UV spectrometers. Expert also has handled high pressure (0-10,000 psi) reactors and high vacuum equipment.
He is well versed in diffuse reflectance IR spectroscopy, as well as 2D techniques in NMR, including solid state methods.
