Ms. Expert has worked in the area of chemical plant design for 20 years. Projects she has worked on have ranged in cost from $10,000 to $100 MM and have covered unit operations including reactor design, recovery systems, filtration equipment, drying, distillation, mixing, solids handling, and vapor recovery. Her design experience has ranged from economic analysis of alternative processes, detailed design of process units, process modeling using ChemCad(TM) software, and specification writing.


Expert's experience in the factory automation field includes automation projects in batch and continuous chemical plants as well as automation projects in metal processing industries. Systems with which she has worked and configured include: Fisher-Rosemont Delta V DCS, Wonderware MMI, GE-Fanuc PLC's and Cimplicity(TM). The scope of her work has included initial assesement of automation projects, cost-vs-benefit calculations, configuration of control systems, testing, training and startup of automation projects. She has a particular interest in improving ergonomics of control systems in order to enhance their payback and reduce training time.

Expert has had operational and R&D experience in the area of fine chemicals, mainly in inorganic chemicals used in the manufacture of fluorescent phosphors, IR transparent glasses, ceramics, and pigments. Her operational experience has included time spent as lead engineer for a 10 million lb/year plant. Duties in this job included improving yields, reducing by-product levels, improving batch scheduling and equipment changeover procedures.
The R&D experience has included developing new processes and products and interfacing with Marketing, Sales, and customers.

She completed the process design for a filtration process used for separating and purifying precipitated inorganic pigment. The design included mass balance, flowsheets, instrumentation design, and startup.She implemented Cimplicity and Historian
software to acquire,log and display process data continuous and batch processes.As Project manager for a chemical plant tank farm expansion her team developed P&IDs, structural and electrical installation drawings, as well as batching logic for raw material transfers.She evaluated and modeled complete raw material cost structure for an existing chemical business. She identified potential lower-cost material sources, and tested and implemented them.Provided conversion services for existing PLC code written for Siemens S7 and AB Compact Logix
