Expert has a cummulative nursing career spanning 42 years. From 1971 to 1994 as an Intensive Care hospital based nurse. In 1992 Expert returned to school and in 1994 received an M.S.ARNP-BC. Since 1994 Expert has provided Primary Care to geriatric populations in settings which include, office for individuals living independently, Assisted Living Facilities and Long Term Care Nursing Facilities. This care has provided management of conditions including, but not limited to, Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Atherosclerotic Heart Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Hypertension, Lipid management, Dementia, Bed Sores and other types of wounds, Chronic Kidney Disease, and Diabetes types 1 & 2. Expert's work has also included ordering and evaluating Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapies. Educating nursing staff and managing medications following national guidelines and indications with a goal of meeting patients needs while reducing polypharmacy. Expert also provides patient, family and staff counselling with regard to end of life planning, executing Advance Directives and providing a terminal plan of care when indicated. In those facilities falls, bedsores, weight loss and hopitalizations have been reduced.
