Expert previously served on Connecticut's Medical Malpractice Claims Review Panel where he assisted in evaluating cases for medical malpractice insurers and individual law firms. He has given deposition and trial testimony in state and federal jurisdictions in approximately 125 cases.
He feels that an ability to communicate effectively is just as important in medicolegal work as it is in medical practice.
Expert has had a long-standing interest in the advanced detection and treatment of heart disease. In particular, new strategies for control of cholesterol and hypertension, as well as how to cope with stress. He helped to establish the first Cardiovascular Prevention Program at Greenwich Hospital. Expert has served as medical advisor to the National Running and Fitness Association in Washington, D.C., and has presented on subjects of preventive cardiology both nationally and aboard.
Expert graduated with honors from the Harvard Medical School. He completed internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He subsequently completed cardiology fellowship at the National Heart Institute- part of the National Institutes of Health- in Bethesda, Maryland. At the N.I.H., he carried out research on lipids (cholesterol) and the advanced detection and treatment of coronary heart disease.
