CHIRAL SEPARATION. In the area of chiral separations, Expert has developed many separations to detect the trace undesirable enantiomer. Expert is an instructor for the American Chemical Society short course "Practical Capillary Electrophoresis" and the author of the text with the same title. In addition, Expert has written a book on troubleshooting electrophoretic methods, has numerous publications in he field, and writes a monthly column that appears in American Laboratory.
Expert offers his clients contract research and method development using modern instrumentation equipped with photodiode array detection. He has worked in the areas of oligonucleotides, pharmaceuticals, chiral recognition, pesticides, herbicides, small ions, and carbohydrates in a variety of sample matrices. The development of precise quantitative methods is one of Expert's specialties.
Expert served as an expert witness surrounding DNA sequencing patent litigation.
Expert has worked on-site with clients to develop capillary electrophoresis methods.

Additional Experience
Expert Witness Experience |
---|
Served as an expert witness for litigation over DNA sequencing patents involving capillary electrophoresis. Prepared expert reports for invalidity and non-infringement for two cases and was twice deposed. |
Training / Seminars |
---|
Expert teaches a well-known two-day course at all ACS national meetings. Students learn HPCE from a practical and phenomenological basis, quickly understanding how ions move in a fluid solution under various conditions. The second course involving Capillary Electrophoresis was introduced in 2006. |
Vendor Selection |
---|
Knowledgeable about many suppliers of capillary electrophoresis instrumentation. |
Marketing Experience |
