research in the uptake and metabolism of substrates using the perfused rat liver and the dog liver in vivo, using mainly the multiple indicator technique.
Expert performed experimental work pertaining to the uptake and metabolism of drugs and substrates in the whole organs (mainly perfused rat liver and dog live in vivo) using the multiple-indicator dilution technique. This included the preparation of radioactive tracers to be applied to the organ and analysis of blood samples by
ion-exchange chromatography, gamma spectroscopy and liquid scintillation spectroscopy. Expert has analyzed these results using mathematical models including mass transport and metabolic transformation. Expert has also analyzed pharmacokinetic data for several contract research organizations.
Expert has written and applied specialized software for the simulation of mass transport and metabolism. This software was used for the evaluation of experiments using mainly the multiple indicator technique, a method for
investigation uptake and transport of substances in whole organs by means of radioactive tracers. The software was written in FOTRAN (9000 lines). Expert participated actively in the development and maintenance of simulation
software "JSim", written in Java and FORTRAN. JSim is a Java-based simulation system for building quantitive numeric models and analyzing them with respect to experimental reference data. Expert has knowledge of most major programming languges.
