Automotive Vehicle Dynamics (Handling), and Tire Mechanics (Tire Force and Moment Properties)
ID: 721744
New York, USA
Tires are the primary force generators for ground vehicles, and the study of tire behavior and performance is usually closely coupled with vehicle dynamics problems. Working primarily at the Calspan TIRF test facility, Expert has been involved in measuring tire force and moment properties over the same 30 year period.
He now manages his own research corporation, including vehicle and tire modeling (software development), but is always interested in working on unique and difficult problems.
Expert has acted as liaison for tire force and moment tests at the TIRF tire test facility for numerous customers, passenger car, race car and truck tires. He carried out test driving and riding (motorcycles & bicycles) for numerous customers including Goodyear, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Road & Track magazine, Alex Moulton Bicycles (UK).Expert provided a lecture on vehicle dynamics to a corporate advanced driver training (test driver) school, then participated in evaluation of the student drivers. He delivered introductory lectures in vehicle dynamics and tire mechanics to numerous corporations including GM, Ford, Chrysler, Rockwell, MTS, Gleason Gear, TRW, and Eaton.Expert was the outside project engineer on a special active suspension prototype for a major car company.
