Expert joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18, serving 3 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge with the rank of E-5, Good Conduct Medal and an ARCOM medal. He then served eight years as a police officer where he earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice and joined the Armored Car industry as a supervisor where he earned a Master's in Management, serving 26 years (22-Brinks’ and 4-Loomis) with a total of 20-years in senior level positions of Area General Manager, District Manager and Regional Direc-tor/Regional Vice President.
Expert had full P&L responsibility ranging from $40 to $100 million with direct reports which Included: Loss Prevention Managers, Human Re-source Managers, Account Executives, Branch Managers, Controllers, District Managers, Transportation Managers, Coin Managers, Currency Processing Managers, ATM Managers, and Training Managers.
During his 26 years working in the cash-in-transit industry, he was responsible for managing and protecting assets at 50 high risk facilities, several thousand armed guards and 1,000 armored vehicles. It is this profit and loss experience that separates him from other security consultants and has helped him to recommend cost effective security measures to mitigate risk and properly balance security with profits.
He has been interviewed on security loss events by CNN, ABC, New York Times and other Canadian and US news media and publications.
Since 2008, Expert continues to serve as an expert witness within the security industry, retained by both defense and plaintiff attorneys and organizations in the U.S., Canada and South America to provide expert opinions in security cases pending litigation.
Expert is vetted as a Security Contractor for the U.S. Department of State Anti-terrorism Administration Assistance (ATA) Program to train law enforcement officers, military and private security professionals for the following courses: Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience; Preventing Attacks on Soft Targets; Surveillance Detection, Instructor Development Course, Preventing Terrorist Attacks on Bus and Railway Systems and Combating Domestic and Transnational Terrorism and several other ATA courses.
Since 2012, Expert has served as staff and lead instructor for 45 ATA courses and five train-the-trainer courses, training federal, state, local law enforcement and private security professionals for the following countries, many on multiple occasions: Afghanistan, Egypt, Columbia, Jordan, Mexico, India, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Pakistan, Philippines, Tunisia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Chad, Niger, Mauritania, India, Yemen, Libya and Saudi Arabia Kingdom.
As part of the ATA Program, he has supervised security risk assessments in the aforementioned parts of the world at the following facilities: Water Treatment Plant, Railway Stations, Bus Terminals, Electric Power Plants, Hotels, Malls (13 stories), Hospital, Sports Stadiums, Secretary of Energy facility, Secretary of Interior facility, Military Training Centers, Department of Interior facility, National Police Headquarters, Government School (ages 5-18), a Mosque, Churches, National Art Museum, Airport, Commercial Shipping Pier, Police College, an International Expo Center and numerous government critical infrastructures.
Expert is one of approximately 200 security professionals world-wide who holds all three ASIS Board Certifications in Security Management, Physical security and Investigations which are accredited by the Department of Homeland Security, International Standards Organization and American National Standards Institute.

Certified Protection Professional (Expert) 1981-1998 Certifications: A Board Certified Designation is acknowledged as the security profession’s highest recognition of practitioners. Rather than the individual stating qualifications on a CV or resume, the individual’s experience and education are verified and reviewed by a professional board of his peers and once qualified, the candidate is tested in the area of expertise selected and must receive a passing score. Testing is monitored under cam-era and with supervisory personnel present at all times. The Expert®, PSP® and PCI® certifications are awarded based upon experience, education and examination that provides objective measure of an individual’s broad-based knowledge and competency in security management, physical security and the investigation process. Ongoing professional development is required to maintain each credential. These certifications are accredited by ANSI under the ISO 17024 Standard.
