Absorbent Technology
ID: 107729
New Jersey, USA
While working with Johnson & Johnson, Expert had optimized the properties of fluff pulp and was recognized as an expert in the area. Optimum grinding conditions, fluff pulp processing machinery, modifications, application, characterization, testing, and specification of pulp were his field of expertise. Expert also developed a few unique characterization procedures that were published in technical journals.
Expert is recognized worldwide as an authority on the subject of water and body fluid absorption. His book entitled "ABSORBENCY" is only one of its kind in the world. He is heavily engaged in consulting in this field, which includes absorbent materials as well as composite structures. He developed and patented new materials based on his own concepts of absorbency phenomena. He has also developed new absorbency test procedures and published several articles on the subject.
Expert is one of the pioneering scientists in the field of superabsorbent materials. He has over 20 US patents in the area. One of his inventions related to superabsorbency resulted in the establishment of a new superabsorbent commercial products plant. He has published articles and chapters in the area of superabsorbency and lectured worldwide. Expert had been deeply involved in the development of superabsorbents as well as their applications in feminine hygiene, diaper, and incontinence products for over 25 years.
Cellulose fiber, its modification and applications have been the focus of Expert's career. He has received many patents and awards of excellence and has authored technical publications in the field. He has written several chapters in books on the modification, characterization, and application of cellulosic materials.
For over 25 years Expert had been deeply involved in the development of absorbent products and materials. He directed a group of scientists and engineers whose primary responsibility was to develop unique materials for a variety of feminine care and incontinence products. The materials he worked with included fibrous composites, new fibers and polymers, foam, superabsorbents, nonwovens, pressure sensitive adhesives, and others.
Expert has served as an expert consultant for the United Nations on natural fibers for several years. He has concentrated especially on jute fiber and traveled throughout Asian countries to assist in developing new technologies. He also developed nonwoven materials with jute fiber, which is now being commercialized. Recently, Expert was engaged in consulting on the development of jute-polymer composites for automobile parts, insulation, and cushions. He can answer in-depth questions on flax, sisal, and bast fibers.
Expert is intimately familiar with nonwovens and had worked closely with the nonwoven division of Johnson & Johnson for 10 years. He developed nonwoven materials with special characteristics for applications in the automotive industry and for household and health care products.
Expert has extensive experience in defiberizing pulp board using hammermill, disc refiner, and attrition mill techniques.
Expert has provided technical consulting to research and development of many industries and government laboratories worldwide.
