Innovating Profit Maximization through Energy Efficiency; Offering Patented Methods which Others do not Consider
ID: 734968
Mississippi, USA
Oil and Gas: Winner of GE GHG Reduction Ecoimagination II based on Gobal Competition: Developed Patented “Deturbulator” Enhanced Heat Transfer Technology for simultaneous Reduction of Cost and Emissions for Steam Generation for retrofit in SAGD oil sand mining. Existing technology cannot deliver savings within size and flow restriction limits. (2015-2017)
Aircraft: Provided improved 20% increased Lift-to-Drag in turbulent atmosphere (not feasible with Laminar Flow Airfoils) resulting in as yet unbeaten FAI records for Distance, Speed and Altitude for Battery powered Luciole MC30e Electric Microlight Aircraft. (2011-2013)
20% increase in best Lift to Drag Ratio of Standard Cirrus Sailplane, verified by Richard Johnson (Soaring Society of America, Magazine, May 2007).
Automobile Aeroacoustics: Developed Compact Patented Sunroof wind Deflector to reduce broadband open-sunroof wind noise across low and high speeds by over 5dBA on existing high-end SUV, and exceed performance levels of best larger deflectors in the marketplace. (2016)
Automobile HVAC: Provided solution for efficient focused delivery of conditioned airflow across an unconditioned space. (2016)
Truck Fuel Economy: Demonstrated 7% increase in Class-8 over the road fleet fuel economy (mpg) by using Low-Cost “virtual streamlining” of varied-shape and size loads on open trailers.
Consultant and Primary Subcontractor for Aerodynamic Flow Control, Global Aircraft Corporation, Starkville, MS, (1999 May - 2000 June).
Assisted Global Aircraft in submitting a SBIR Phase-0 proposal to State of Mississippi to obtain preliminary data for establishing feasibility of active boundary layer flow separation control on the NLF-0414F Natural Laminar Flow wing of their advanced trainer. Obtained the grant and conducted flight tests.
Assisted Global in preparing proposal and obtaining a SBIR Phase-1 Grant from the National Science Foundation titled, “Electro-Mechanical Micro-Vibratory Transducers for Boundary Layer Flow Control”. Successfully completed this project and assisted in submitting a SBIR Phase-II proposal to NSF.
