He then earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College, followed by an intern year at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences. While completing a radiation oncology residency, he served as chief resident and was named Resident of the Year, Researcher of the Year and earned Crain's Healthcare Hero Award.
Expert’s works range from exploring the impact of routine surveillance imaging in head and neck cancers to hypofractionated radiation boosts in prostate cancer. As an expert in advanced radiation therapy, he’s developed skills that include stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and intensity modified radiation therapy (IMRT)—treating a range of conditions, including brain, head and neck, lung, liver, adrenal, spine, prostate and gynecologic malignancies.
Technical Experience:
- Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) including Tomotherapy.
- Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) for lung, liver, adrenal, spine, metastases, intact prostate
- Frameless Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) using linac (Truebeam)
- Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT): C-RAD SGRT, ExacTrac, MV ports, kV radiographs and kvCBCT, MVCT (Tomotherapy)
- 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D) and Electron Radiation Therapy
- Treatment planning systems: Aria/Eclipse, Brainlab i-Plan, Pinnacle, Tomotherapy, MIM
- Respiratory management: 4DCT, DIBH and respiratory gating with RPM, abdominal compression
- Brachytherapy: prostate/gynecologic/keloid (HDR), sarcoma (HDR/Civa), ocular (LDR plaque), recurrent brain metastases (GammaTile)
- Radiopharmaceuticals: Xofigo, Iodine-131
- Space OAR procedure training 09/2020
- Benign disease: Keloid, duputyrens, HO, AVM, trigeminal neuralgia
