Responsibilities:Projects:Delma and Sir Bani Yas Airports, Abu Dhabi - total Value 90,000,000.00 DHS Responsibility: - Managing Design-Build Project of 2 airports at Delma and Sir Bani Yas Island. - This included Delethalizations works for both airports where runway strip areas were covered by 10 cm subcase material that was transported by barges from the main land. - The Works included the remove one old ILS (Instrument Landing System) and replace PAPI (Precision Approach Path Indicator) lights. - The runways' and aprons' pavements were evaluated mainly through the use of falling weight deflectometer and the PCN (Pavement Classification Number) value for the pavements of the two airports was established. - A complete design for the runway and taxiways, and apron AGL (Airfield Ground Lighting) system was performed for Sir Bani Yas airport as part of the Contractor's assignment. During the project, a reassessment of storm water management system was done and a solution for managing storm water in Sir Bani Yas airport was designed and implemented. - Delma Apron's markings were strip removed and new marking configuration was designed and implemented. Additionally, we did modification works for Delma Fire Station, designed and constructed a fire station for Sir Bani Yas Airport with a ramp connecting the ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) with the apron. - The works included the design a new Terminal Building (By GHD) for Delma Airport. A complete security boundary fences were constructed for both airports with new service roads. - Both airport were certified by GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority) and all works done by MASRI Engineering were officially transferred to airport operation. - The project was over in 2 years and was completed without delays. |

This Project included a complete infra-structure network of utilities and roads. PMB asphaltic was extensively used for the pavement of runways, taxiways and aprons while HMA was used for the main truck roads and other service roads. Unreinforced Concrete Pavement was also used for parts of Aprons and Runways. - The runway is a precision instrument runways; it has dimensions of 3750 m x 60 m with 2 stopways; it's pavement is flexible except for the thresholds / touchdown areas, which were made from concrete. All AGL lights were inset LED lights except for edge lights where elevated types were used. - Employer duty was to supervise 4 main Contractors and other 7 contractors for the design review and construction of the airport.
