Expert L. Expert was first certified as an IH in 1979 while with OSHA. Spent 8 years with OSHA and field directed IH and safety investigations in Nebraska, Iowa and Texas. Primarily area: Refineries and Chemical facilities in the Houston Ship Channel. In 1979-1982 located at a petrochemical facility the largest (to date) brain cancer cluster ever found. Co-authored article in Jan 1980 issue of Am J. Ind. Medicine. Since OSHA has served as an expert in state and federal toxic substance cases involving asbestos, silica, H2S, benzene, acrylates, lead and naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM.) Expert witness on toxic substances since 1985. Special interest: determining exposure probabilities using @RISK stat analyses protocols. Served as a board member for the National Disease Clusters Alliance. Currently researching a book on gasoline and benzene.

Expert L. Expert is a Certified Safety Professional, first certified in 1981. Primary safety work with OSHA included Refineries and Chemical facilities. Investigations during and since OSHA have included: falls from a height, confined space, compressed gases, crane accidents, heat stress, heavy equipment, trench fatalities, welding and electrical. Work since 1990 has included walking/working surfaces, warning labels, vacuum trucks, railroad and rail car accidents and explosions, forklift injuries, machine guarding, lifting injuries, illumination, and flammable storage. Special expertise in determining causation based on an evaluation of organizational structure.

Expert L. Expert authored the 1987 Macmillan book: Under The Cloud: The Decades of Nuclear Testing. It received an award as one of the top science-technical books of 1987. Since that time, ExpertMiller also authored the five-volume reference set: U.S. Atlas of Nuclear Fallout, listing county fallout levels for different radioisotopes, including Co60, Cm242 and Am242. These data were based upon the National Cancer Institute's I-131 fallout analysis, published in 1997 and the "Results of Calculations of External Gamma Radiation Exposure Rates from Fallout and Related Radionuclide Compositions" for the various U.S. nuclear test series. This document was authored by radiochemist Harry G. Hicks and published by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Using spectrum data from the U.S. nuclear tests, it is possible to characterize some types of materials used in the explosion from an unknown device, i.e. neutron reflectors, boosting materials, etc.

Expert has been qualified as an expert witness in safety and industrial hygiene since 1985. During this time he has served as an expert for both plaintiff and defense clients. He has worked with law firms in Nevada, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana and has been qualified both in state and federal court.
