ID: 722853
North Carolina, USA
Expert has delivered substantial cost savings via direct negotiation, the use of multidivisional purchasing council demand leverage, as well as via cross-functional teams. In his last assignment for a global consumer goods company, he led/directed over 20 core teams that used a systematic approach to developing sourcing strategies that yielded substantial ongoing savings as well as supply chain improvements. In most cases, the cross-functional teams were global in nature and led by subject matter experts.
He has had 35 years of experience in investigating, selecting, and managing suppliers. He has led numerous cross-functional teams in the development of supplier performance measurement and improvement tools. He proactively oversaw the development and measurement of “KPIs” (key performance indicators) for the purpose of tracking and managing improvement in the area of indirect goods and services. He led a team of multidivisional procurement and subject matter experts in the development of a balanced score card measure of major indirect goods and services providers. This scorecard was used as an ongoing management tool, but also allowed for a quantitative and verifiable set of measures that allowed the best suppliers to be identified and recognized at the annual Supplier Recognition program. Expert also had responsibility for revitalizing a supplier diversity program for a major consumer goods program. After two years, the revamped initiative was recognized by a regional SDI Council as being its Corporation of the year.
Expert has 35 years of diverse experience in numerous supply chain positions as well as overseeing cross-functional strategic sourcing teams focused on the entire spectrum of indirect goods and services. He has developed and managed multidivisional purchasing councils. He has developed and implemented cross-business procurement matrix organizations designed to implement and manage the results of strategic sourcing activity. He has helped teach strategic sourcing processes within his former company and was part of the Senior Procurement team responsible for driving and overseeing the activity.
