Expert has applied his engineering background to automotive filter applications. He has extensive experience in multiple types of automotive filtration. He has designed filters for lube, fuel and crankcase ventilation automotive applications. In the design of these products he has used Design for Six Sigma techniques and has been the technical project leader for products using Value Package Introduction and stage gate processes. He is the primary author on three patents relating to crankcase ventilation and is co-author on two patents pending on crankcase ventilation. He has been involved in cost reduction projects involving existing automotive filters. He is familar with vendor selection for materials used in automotive filters. He played an important engineering role in introducing a new product line of crankcase ventialtion filters that is currently used in aftermarket and original equipment applications. He is active on test standards committees for automotive filters for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the International Standards Organization (ISO). He has been involved in plastic part design for automotive applications.
Expert has worked in the engineering field for over 15 years. He has experience in design and product development engineering. He earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and has worked as an engineer in the automotive industry. Along with his expertise in design and product development engineering, Expert does have experience in manufacturing and plant engineering. He is trained in Design for Six Sigma processes and has used them in his work. He has worked as a Product Line Engineer for a diverse line of filtration products.
Expert has extensive experience in engineering standard work, both internal and external. He was the author of three internal standards on the design of Power Steering Reservoirs, Hydraulic Cartridge Filters and High Pressure Refrigeration Tubing. He also has served on test standards committees for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), National Fluid Power Association (NFPA), and International Standards Organization (ISO). While a member of these committees, Expert has worked on developing test standards for a wide range of areas in filtration. Some of the standard areas that he has worked on include; Fuel Filtration, Fuel-water separation, Automotive Lube Filtration, Hydraulic Filtration, Crankcase Ventilation and Air Filtration.
Expert has worked in the filtration industry for over 15 years. He has experience in many different kinds of filtration and separation. This includes hydraulic filtration, lube filtration, fuel filtration, fuel-water separation, crankcase blowby filtration, power steering reservoir filtration, air filtration, and refrigerant filtration. He has been involved in the product design and development, marketing, and testing of filters. He is active on the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and International Standards Organization (ISO) standards committees for filtration. He has been a Product Line Engineer for an existing filtration product line. He has been a Technical Project Leader for new filtration technologies that have been incorporated into diesel engines. He has experience in cost savings and cost reduction projects involving filtration components and filters. He has dealt with suppliers on selecting components to meet product specifications.
Expert has been involved in designing a line of aftermarket hydraulic fluid filters. He is also active on standards committees for the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) that develop test standards for hydraulic filters. He has been involved in media and component selection and cost reduction projects for hydraulic filters. He has been a Product Line Engineer for hydraulic filters. He has experience in applications for lawn and garden equipment, refrigeration equipment, power steering systems and industrial equipment.
Expert has experience in new product development management. He was the Technical Project Leader for incorpating new crankcase ventilation filtration technologies on diesel engines. These projects led to several million dollars of sales f's employer.
