Specific examples of these industrial sectors include chemicals, packaging, food, cleaning products, and environmental services.
Expert’s experience in bringing industry together on common issues has resulted in the formation of two industry groups addressing the regulatory and environmental, health and safety (EHS) aspects of nanotechnology. He is currently Executive Director of the SOCMA Nanotechnology SME Coalition and he was instrumental in the formation of the American Chemistry Council Nanotechnology Panel.

Publication of the Employer Report requires a weekly review and analysis of nearly one thousand peer-reviewed journal articles on nanotechnology applications, research and related regulatory, policy, worker safety, environmental and human health issues. He gathers information on new applications of nanoscale materials, new material developments and trends in nanotechnology. He also gathers information by attending national and international nanotechnology conferences and symposia and through interviews with founders of nanotechnology start-ups, scientific experts, government officials, trade associations and nanotechnology investors.
