Enzyme/Protein/Antibody Stabilization, Biosensor Development & Shelf-life, DNA Stability & Testing
ID: 725797
United Kingdom
A number of new stabilization systems have been incorporated into new product lines as a result of his entrepreneurship, as well as new business opportunities, including possible joint ventures and small company buy-outs.
He has a great deal of expertise in the immobilization of enzymes, proteins, antibodies, immunoassay and biosensor development.
His experience includes:
The immobilization of enzymes onto enzyme biosensors for extended use or for in vivo applications.
The reusability of enzyme based systems via immobilization protocols, applications being biocatalysts and enzyme based cleaning solutions.
The immobilization of antibodies onto surfaces typically for optical measurements of analyses.
The capture of toxins via immobilization regimes for eventual analysis.
He has extensive expertise in the stabilization of enzymes, proteins, peptides, antibodies and DNA molecules. He has been working in this particular field for the past 9 years. He has helped stabilize a large portfolio of proteins, the majority used for biosensor applications. He has extended the shelf-life of proteins in the dry state and the solution state. Examples include dehydrogenate based systems including the co-factors. He has worked with labile mutant enzymes used in the defense sector, PCR components that required stability during a manufacturing process, solution stability of antibodies and DNA samples during transport, multiple cascade enzyme systems required for clinical chemistry applications, the stability of antibodies within lateral flow devices, the stabilization of enzymes within screen-printed/ink jetting inks and many more.
He has many years of experience in research and development. These include research in cardiac biochemistry and extend to the present day with his expertise in protein stabilization and immobilization.
He has run a multitude of such projects over the years in order to solve problems for clients with particular reference to the stability of proteins within their manufacturing process as well as their final devise or application.
