Request Expert

Expert is board certified in Internal Medicine with a special interest in managed care. He received his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1974 and completed his internship in internal medicine and resident training in internal medicine at Emory in 1977. He currently runs an active practice in internal medicine with an understanding of endothelial dysfunction as represented in atherosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. He has an interest in geriatrics and as such is a medical director at a nursing home and on staff at 3 others.

In managed care has been a medical director and consultant at a major HMO for 10 years with involvement in prior orthorization, quality assurance policies and procedures, retro reviews, formulary, medication (in medical and pharmacy context) reviews, and disease management, provider relations, recruitment and credentialing.

In administration, he has served as Director of Internal Medicine at a Residents Clinic running the residency program, training and supervising residents in the Department of internal medicine. He is involved in several committees involving utilization review, pharmacy and therapeutic, medical quality assurance, outpatient services, quality protection, clinical improvement and performance, and medical records.
