As CIO of a $12B global IT services firm – he produced savings in excess of $6M / year against a $23M annual budget, while providing 99%+ uptime without security breaches. He oversaw the evolution of the firms IT infrastructure, led the systems integration of a major acquisition, and developed and implemented the firm’s global IT strategy. He is experienced in “best shoring” IT delivery, and is adept at working across different cultures to ensure effective global delivery. Prior to becoming CIO, Expert led strategic projects introducing leading edge technology to help drive profitable growth and increase customer service. He developed his firm’s data center strategy, and was instrumental in bringing its SaaS business to fruition. He supported two leading financial institutions in applying technology to help react to the challenges of the Financial crisis. In the Public Sector, he helped the Federal Government move to cloud computing infrastructures, and led the firm’s NYC practice generating $24M in new business in the first six months.
He was a Vice President at American Management System (AMS). In that role, he conceptualized, implemented, directed, and grew the firm’s business process outsourcing and application management outsourcing practices from the ground-up into a successful practice generating in excess of $200 million in new business per year. He led a project that redeveloped a State’s income tax processing systems, and introduced mobile system for individuals and businesses to conduct financial transactions with NYC. He managed the, turnaround of a project installing modern debt management, collections, and risk management engines for Verizon Communications. The project involved a team of 100+ engineers and technical resources across three states in six locations.
Expert has assisted firms in managing difficult / troubled projects, managing costs, negotiating deals, and developing and implementing IT strategies. He previously served as CIO of a $12B IT services firm and was responsible for all internal systems and long term IT vision. He directed all engagements of firm with NYC Agencies. These included major projects with several City Agencies, as well as NYC Transit Authority. He led development of outsourced cloud computing environment granted an Authority to Operate by the U.S. General Services Administration. Expert managed system development engagement for leading ratings agency during financial crisis, as well as providing IT delivery to major financial institution, and developed remote system development facilities in SW Virginia and India realizing 45% reductions in costs, providing BPO services to clients in both private and public sectors. He implemented his firms SaaS practice.
Expert successfully led the post merger integration of the internal systems of Logica and CGI. He developed the data center strategy for his firm.As CIO, Expert was the firms IT Security Officer.
Expert worked with private equity firm to analyze business trends in the IT Services space with the objective of deploying capital more effectively in equity markets. Specifically looked at a large outsourcing and services firm and analyzed its potential for continued growth potential. Assisted venture capitalist firm in making investments in specific areas of Cloud infrastructure. Client was examining various aspects of Cloud infrastructure to identify start ups with disruptive technologies for investment.Worked wit a government agency to improve security of IT infrastructure in various sensitive areas. Helped develop a program to identify weak areas of infrastructure and IT processes to harden. Expert worked with both a major financials services organization and a rating agency to tailor their IT assets to survive the financial crisis and emerge stronger, and more competitive. This involved rationalizing spend, enabling the introduction of new technologies, strategic outsourcing, and On site analysis of infrastructure.
