Expert is an experienced analytical chemist specialising in the analysis of waters, wastewaters, sludges and formal samples from both a regulator industry and regulated industry point of view. Experience of the design and implementation of effluent monitoring programes for various reasons including: assessment and optimisation of treatment plant operations, treatment plant design, regulatory compliance.

Expert has experience of classical 'wet' and instrumental methods of analysis including: AAS, Gas and Liquid Chromatography, Air Segmented Continuous Flow Analysers, Ion Selective Electrodes. Method development, validation and documentation. Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Laboratory Management

He has assessed organic waste materials for use as agricultural soil conditioners and fertilisers including calculation of application rates and filed appropriate documentation in respect of Waste Management Exemptions.He has reviewed expert reports and commented on the validity of conclusions drawn, offering alternative conclusions in respect of water supply (water quality) litigation.He has conducted audits of small scale sewage treatment plants to assess loading rates and identify reasons for discharge consent failure. A maintenence and management program was developed to bring this plant back into consent.He has conducted a desk study into historical land use and calculated nutrient and potentially toxic element loadings in relation to an agricultural tenancy dispute following waste spreading activities.He has analysed regulator formal samples and provided expert advice and evidence at Magistrates Court and Crown Court (Appeal Court) in respect of water pollution incidents.
