Synthesis Chemistry
ID: 108399
Connecticut, USA
Expert is interested in the characterization of materials in a broad sense. He has worked on studies of optical surface, bulk, thermal, structural, electronic, electrical, morphological, compositional, functional group, and other properties. Methods of analysis that Expert is familiar with include AA, ICP, ERP/ESR, UV-visible, XRD, EXAMFS, XANES, SEM, TEM, STEM, luminescence, lifetime, Raman, and FTIR. He has also worked with XPS, SAM, ISS, SIMS, FESEM, electrochemical, PAS, TGA, DSC, DTA, and the temperature program methods of TPD, TPR, and TPO. He can answer questions related to optical imaging, mass spectroscopy, GCMS, ESD, PSD, and optical microscopy.
Some of the reactions that are of interest to Expert are in the areas of pollution prevention and environmental catalysis. He has studied dehalogenation, total oxidation of aromatics, carbon dioxide activation, CFC and Freon destruction, NOx decomposition, the clean-up of electroplating waste, and reactions in contaminated soil.
MOLECULAR DESIGN. Using molecular design for the synthesis of new materials, Expert worked specifically with porous zeolites, clays, pillared clays, non-zeolitic transition metal oxides, and metal sulfides. He is familiar with the synthesis of thin films, wires, powders, single crystals, ceramics, polymers, composites, semiconductors, phosphors, and amorphous materials.
