FAILURE MODES AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS (FMEA). Expert has extensive experience in generating FMEAs in accordance with military specifications and standards. He was the project leader in the formulation of an FMEA team to maximize analyses and bring out design weaknesses as candidates for design improvement. Expert performed FMEA on both electronic and mechanical items. He has experience in generating FMEA plans for a cost effective approach based on ultimate FMEA use. He is on industry committees to develop a new standard for FMEA to replace MIL-STD-1629.
RELIABILITY. Expert has over 35 years experience in reliability engineering. His experience covers every aspect of reliability discipline from planning, analysis, costing, test design, program meetings and review, failure analysis, and field evaluation. He is familiar with all military reliability standards and their streamlining to create cost-effective reliability programs.
RELIABILITY PREDICTION. Expert has over 25 years experience in reliability prediction using military, GIDEP and other failure data sources. He performed numerous predictions for electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical equipment. He is familiar with the reliability prediction field based on field data, simulator data, and accelerated life data.
MAINTAINABILITY ENGINEERING; ELECTRICAL ACCIDENT; SAFETY DESIGN REVIEW. In the area of maintainability engineering, Expert has performed maintainability predictions, built-in-test studies, and developed design criteria to enhance maintainability. His safety proficiency includes hazard analyses, safety program plans, and safety design reviews. He is also knowledgeable regarding accident investigation, electrical safety, and warnings and labels. Expert is on an industry committee to develop a new industry standard to replace MIL-STD-470.
Expert has nearly 10 years experience designing, running and summarizing HALT tests and HASS programs. His company also has expertise in HASS fixture design.
Expert's experience includes work with the Advanced Minehunting Sonar System (AMSS), the FCS MK92 Mod 2 (modified) Program, the Advanced Tactical Radar (ATR), and Sperry's Common Module Fire Control System (CMFCS) for Army armored vehicles, and the LAMPS RADAR and Battery systems. He has worked with trainers/simulators, display/processing and radar equipment of many kinds.
