Expert. Expert has solved many molding defect issues in China using sound processing by combining theory (Moldflow), physics, scientific molding, DOE (Design of Experiments) and practice on the floor, for several large US brand name companies, at Chinese molding facilities ranging from 2,000-30,000 employees. The most complex project to date: triple shot injection molding over FPC (Flex PCs). He has twice presented at the Moldflow International User Conference, in Tokyo and Pittsburg. He is very adverse in engineering simulation technologies (thermal, structural) which provides a strong physics background, enabling Expert to short cut the 'black art' in processing and infinite number of recipes to solve as many molding phenomena, resulting in quick breakthroughs on the floor. The use DOE (Design of Experiments) creates a very systematic and scientific approach rather than piecemeal and incidental troubleshooting. The customer will receive a detailed analysis at the end outlining major contributors and solutions provided.

TPE Molding over 6 layer Flex PC with components causing variable cross sections resulting in 'Tiger stripes', shiny spots. Trouble shooting with Moldflow simulation, DOE (Design of Experiments), work with material supplier's lab, tool heat exchange debugging fill/pack debugging Also resolving bonding and de-laminination issues.Simulate conformal cooling and process settings to minimize warpage, use cavity pressure and temperature sensors to optimize parameter settings for flatness and cosmetics. End result was the best shape/cosmetics performance of supplier candidates in China.Designed out Optical lens weld lines and air entrapments by using Moldflow.End result was very fast setup and part acceptance.Work with external material & Moldflow consultants for complex gas assistance problem. Reviewed and assisted in gas assistance issue for a very large transparent part.
