He has also been involved in the reverse engineering of hardware for the purpose of determining infringement.
Expert has experience in using economic, financial, accounting and market research to analyze the issues of a patent infringement case with damages. He has been involved in the construction of a lost profits claim and the determination of a reasonable royalty. He has experience with the development of effective testimony. He is familiar with the Panduit Test for determining lost profits and he has used the Georgia-Pacific factors in determining a reasonable royalty.
Expert has received several patents relating to data communications design. He has worked with digital data communications networks. He has designed data communications networks utilizing standard interfaces, protocols, and codes such as ASCII and analyzed operation and performance of equipment such as multiplexers and modems utilizing amplitude and frequency shift coding as well as QAM. He has worked with DSL and ADSL modems with and without line powering. He has worked with POE for electrical metering projects.
Expert has extensive design experience with DC-DC converters and switch mode power supply design. His emphasis is on low cost and high efficiency designs.
Expert has the expertise to assist the client in converting their invention and ideas into a patent. He helps identify additional features that can be incorporated in the patent to make it as valuable as possible.
Expert has been involved in electronics engineering for over 30 years. He has designed products which have been awarded over 30 US and International patents. He has studied patent claims to provide expert opinions in patent infringement lawsuits.
Expert has served as an advisor in Intellectual Property for several major law firms. He has assisted in determining the validity of writing a patent for a particular design. He has advised on writing claims to get the maximum value from the patent.
Expert likes to devise and develop new products for clients. He does this in such a way that it can be in most cases patentable. When requested, he will devise inventions to meet the request and will do so at no cost or obligation. At this point the invention belongs to expert. If client sees a market potential for product, the client can either license or buy rights to the patent. He can then prepare the detailed description for the patent application and the patent can then be filed by the patent firm of client's choice.
Expert has been involved in all aspects of new product development. He gets involved in the early product definition phase, does cost analysis, helps to design and develop the product or system, provides all schematics and BOMs for the design, selects vendors, assists with developing the required test fixtures and programs, helps to see that there is a smooth transition into manufacturing, helps solve any manufacturing issues.
He has designed products that have protection from overload voltages and currents. Since he designs for all regulatory requirements, there is always built in margin in all designs.
He helps to decide if an invention will work. If there is a need for the invention, if there are prior inventions or any public information that could prevent a patent from being granted. He has devised a series of criteria to assist in determining if an invention can be converted into a successful profitable patent.
He has been involved in reverse engineering for over 30 years. He works with clients to determine if a product can be built better, cheaper and smaller. Often times reverse engineering is used in the course of a patent infringement case. By determining how the device works in comparison to the challenged device, the case can often be dismissed if client is the defendant in the case.
He has over 30 years in designing circuits to withstand the surges caused by lightning and other high energy sources. He is an expert in testing per Telecordia requirements, NEBS and UL.
Expert has a deep understanding of virtually all aspects in the telecommunications arena, including design, testing and new market opportunities.
Expert has a deep understanding of virtually all aspects of telecommunications standards. He evaluated technical communications standards that could affect future product and service characteristics which could have impeded new product and service introduction.
Expert has a deep understanding of all aspects of regulatory requirements and testing procedures for both the telecommunications and medical industries. He has assisted with product designs in the early stages of development to insure that the product would pass any and all regulatory standards. He has tested products for ESD, EMI, EMC, NEBS, GR-1089, GR-63, IEC60000, IEC60601-1, UL requirements.
Expert has consulted on several cases involving cellular communications - several have involved cell tower records to establish a location of a cell phone during the commission of a felony. Expert has written reports detailing the architecture of a cellular network and the routing of a particular cell phone call. He has designed several features of cell phone technology including emergency number routing, text messages, and transceivers.
He has consulted for E/O Networks for FTTH development and design. He also did power supply design for this client. He has consulted for Raychem in Menlo Park, Calif. for ADSL / DAML /HDSL developmentHe has consulted for Raynet in Menlo Park, Calif. for FTTH development and designHe has provided consulting services to several clients in the telecom and medical industries for regulatory issues including UL testing, NEBS, ESD, EMI, EMC, IECHe has consulted for Hawg-Wired in Fremont for audio amplifier design and development and for Echelon Corp for energy control and electrical meter design
