This expert possesses expertise in Optical Network Planning and Network Infrastructure designs. He was instrumental in the initial architecture and the design of the Verizon Ultra Long-Haul network. This occurred subsequent to the passing of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the law that allowed the LECs to enter the long-distance markets and allowed for CLECs to compete for local services. He is experienced in optical network designs including identifying Network Element (NE) components, fiber types, environments and ancillary equipment required to build robust WAN and LANs. He has built Point-to-Point structures, Rings and Mesh topologies for customers such as Disney, Bank of New York, VIS, FTTP and VzW. He has participated in planning Site-Moves and Network Element additions of multiple SONET bandwidths of OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192 and OC768. He is a PT (Planning Tool) super user, an application developed by each DWDM vendor used to design 10Gb, 10GbE and 40Gb Lambdas. He has a working knowledge of various vendors’ products including Lucent-Alcatel Lambdaxtreme ULH, Fujitsu Flashwaves 9500, 7600 & 7500 equipment, Nortel Metro DWDM and Siemens ULH.
This Expert has extensive knowledge of DWDM and SONET equipment. Expert has provided recommendation to enhance the functionality of the Lucent-Alcatel Optical Transponders (OTs) and transceivers. He is very knowledgeable of cross-connect equipment including Digital Cross Systems (DSX), LGX, Tellabs 5500, DACS and systems.
While working at Lucent-Alcatel this expert gained 20 years’ experience performing detail engineering of Transport equipment. He has knowledge of switchboard, cable and power. Also has performed site surveys and some installations.
