Oil Refining Technology
ID: 716565
Ohio, USA
Expert has defined the economics of alternative refining options, raw material choices, product mixes, operating capacity expansions, and other refining technological innovations. He has ascertained refinery operating changes and economic benefits of such moves.
Expert has developed and analyzed output from numerous linear programming (LP) models of various refining systems, including individual refineries and multi-refinery systems. He is especially adept at analyzing model results and defining appropriate actions. He has used LP technology to define alternative refinery operating options and their associated economic value. Expert has managed a linear programming function for a major, mid-western refinery.
Over the course of his career, Expert has assessed many refinery operating flow plans to define the economics of operating options, capacity expansions, alternative processes, new products, and raw materials. He has developed, reviewed, and interpreted linear programming models depicting individual refineries as well as larger refining systems.
Expert is knowledgeable of all phases of refinery operations, processes, planning, and management. He specialized in planning, economic, and modeling functions. Expert scheduled oil pipeline movement and storage of products and crude oils at a major petroleum refinery. He is adept at organizing a systematic approach to solving problems involving conflicting demands on limited operational resources. Expert has determined optimum plans for emergency shutdown of selected portions of a refinery and has defined costs of alternative operating modes, additional product demands, and shifts in raw materials.
Depending on the need and definition of the problem, Expert can develop and interpret linear or nonlinear simulation systems for refinery applications. He has used linear and flow simulation systems for economic, process control, and operational coordination purposes.

Expert has defined the costs and methods of production of reformulated gasoline for a major oil refiner. He has determined the economic cost of providing changes in many fuel qualities (parameters) and the alternative process approaches required to provide these changes. He has also worked in the area of conventional gasoline baseline determination. |
