ACTIVATED CARBON SYSTEM. Expert has spent most of his 36 year career applying various adsorbents to separation or purification functions. He has designed and supervised the construction and startup of numerous activated carbon adsorption systems for use in hydrogen purification and recovery. He is also experienced in CCl4 removal and recovery, using a hot dry recycle gas for reactivation.

ADSORPTION APPLICATION; UNIT OPERATION ADSORPTION. Expert's entire 36 years of experience has involved the application of adsorption unit operation to various separation, recovery, and purification processes. He holds a patent, assigned to UCC, on the separation of hydrogen from nitrogen using "pressure swing." He worked for, and eventually became co-owner of, Chemical Design, Inc. At Chemical Design, his duties included selling, designing, building, and starting up dozens of adsorption systems. He is also well-versed in regeneration techniques, including indirect heat, closed cycle heat, and pressure swing.

MOLECULAR SIEVE. Most of Expert's career has been spent in applying the use of molecular sieves and other adsorbents to various purification and separation problems. He has designed, built, and started up scores of commercial adsorption systems. Expert's early career was spent in the research and development of molecular sieves for UCC, and later became involved in using molecular sieves for various adsorption systems that he designed and built. His applications included drying, purifying, hydrogen recovery, and air separation. He is also familiar with most adsorption-grade molecular sieves, including both the common and uncommon regeneration techniques.
