During the first part of his career Expert worked as a weather forecaster. Initially, this work was with the Australian Bureau of Meteorology providing aviation and public weather forecasts. He then spent 10 years as a forecaster with Imcos Marine Ltd, a British company that specialised in providing weather forecasting services to the offshore oil and gas industries worldwide. Expert still provides bespoke weather forecasting for individual projects on an as required basis. The projects are very diverse, including oceanic transportation of oil rigs, major outdoor music events (e.g. a worldwide tour by Madonna) and filming of TV commercials.
Expert provides consultancy services to a range of industries where information on climate is required. These include the offshore oil and gas industries, the film industry and the insurance industry
He provided expert meteorological services to assist one of the parties involved in an insurance claim arising from storm damage during the construction of the tunnel/bridge complex linking Denmark and SwedenHe assisted solicitors acting for a cabin crew member making a claim against an airline after being seriously injured by sudden severe turbulence.He provided expert services in a case arising from a new roof covering on a sports hall being badly damaged by strong winds.He is currently providing expert services to one of the parties involved in the aftermath of the grounding of a large cargo ship.He provided an in-deoth analysis of the causes of a severe flooding event in Central Europe.
