I have performed extensive research in the areas of sensitive RNA footprinting techniques footprinting, nucleic acids all during my collegiate career.
After a successful PhD was obtained, I wanted to further my experience in biological assays and increase my biological skill set. I accomplished this by making several Rhodium-based photo-oxidants that targeted the mitochondria and, upon irradiation, increased oxidative stress. We then analyzed how nucleic acids were modified within cells. I published several articles during my postdoctoral research. My publications illustrate my ability to solve problems and complete research goals in different labs with different focuses.
My wide-ranging background has given me expertise in the biochemistry of nucleic acids, DNA damage, and in synthesizing various agents that modify nucleic acids. My training positioned me to begin to focus on medicinal chemistry. Since starting my position I have published nine articles, a book chapter, two patents, several funded proposals, and many seminars showing my success. My group currently consists of six PhD candidates. In addition to my medicinal chemistry background these four years have given me strong management skills.
Editing and reviewing proposals for multiple colleges.I have written patents and manuscripts.Participate in an oncology drug discovery group and design syntheses and help obtain molecules.
