Mechanical Engineering, Cavitation Erosion
ID: 108413
Maryland, USA
CAVITATION EROSION; CORROSIVE WEAR; WEAR-RESISTANT COATINGS; WEAR-CONTROL LUBRICATION. Dr. Thiru is responsible for two material erosion parameters, the Intensity of Erosion (Ie) and the Strength of Erosion (Se). He is very knowledgeable about friction and wear, including abrasive wear, corrosive wear, wear-resistant coatings, wear-prevention, and wear-control lubrication. Dr. Thiru has conducted extensive research on cavitation, cavitation erosion, ultrasonic cavitation, corrosion fatigue, stress corrosion, high frequency fatigue, and high cycle fatigue.
STRUCTURAL MECHANICS. Dr. Thiru has a strong background in structural mechanics, including the mechanical properties of solids, failure analysis, deformation analysis, statics, stress analysis, dynamics, and non-destructive testing. He has done extensive research on protective coatings, desalination materials, and cable materials.
