Expert has extensive market and business research skills that range from industrywide to product- or company-specific inquiries. While she has researched a broad range of industries, manufacturers, and technology-based products and services, the energy industries--both extractive and renewable--are a particular focus. Her clients in this industry include inventors of oil field, coal mining, and solar equipment for the US Department of Energy and the State of New Mexico. In the last two years, she has completed three market research projects related to commercial, industrial, and residential refrigeration equipment and the new generation of refrigerants. MICRO ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT Expert directed and managed the largest, most successful Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in New Mexico, providing business assistance to 650 clients and conducting 30 seminars and courses with 590 attendees within a calendar year. She supervised and served a multi-cultural, Hispanic, Native American and Anglo, staff and client base. She managed a revolving micro-loan fund of one-quarter million dollars, with an average loan size of $30,000 to new and expanding indigenous businesses. Expert analyzed loan applications, business and profit plans, and financial statements. She assessed borrowers' technical capabilities and prepared strategic business assistance plans to meet a lender's funding requirements. She developed, instructed, and supervised college-level courses in entrepreneurship, including a small business management class recognized by the Wall Street Journal's Enterprise column.


Expert had analyzed market trends, the competition, and developed market studies for technology-based companies that resulted in the introduction of 13 new technologies into the US and international marketplace. She has conducted the market-related due diligence for two venture capital organizations with a portfolio success ratio of over 75 percent and made funding recommendations for requests ranging from $50,000 to $500,000. She has investigated renewable and conventional energy industries, medical devices, computer software, electronics, financial services, and recreational equipment markets.
