Expert regularly lectures on placental disease and bleeding disorders in pregnancy. Expert has published several chapters on these topics. Most recently, his chapter on Placenta Previa and Accreta has been included in The Global Library of Women's Medicine, an international referance data base in the specialty (see Bio).
The myriad new developments and technology in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology have been both challenging and stimulating. Expert has been involved in special training in laparoscopic surgery in order to keep pace with this ever-growing field. Expert has co-directed the establishment of minimally invasive surgical protocols for the obstetrics and gynecology department at NorthShore University Healthsystem and is actively involved in the training of residents in laparoscopic surgery (laparoscopic hysterectomy, bilateral adnexectomy, management of ectopic pregnancy, sterilization and diagnostic procedures for endometriosis and pelvic pain, etc.) Expert has also used the simulation lab for research and training in endoscopic procedures. As a member of the department executive committee, Expert has also been instrumental in reviewing surgical statistics and data-driven outcomes for the department.
Pelvic pain, endometriosis and adnexal disease continue to be very common diagnoses in this specialty. The approach to the patient and their clinical workup are just as important as the treatment, weather medical or surgical. Expert's Chapter on Pelvic pain and Endometriosis is currently being updated for the second edition in an office gynecology textbook (see Bio).
Expert has been sought as an expert witness in medical litigation cases. Decisions to settle or proceed with case (usually for defense) made on behalf of client insurance companies and law firms. Expert has been requested to speak on behalf of pharmaceutical companies to promote product lines in women's health. Has been invited to Tucson, Az. on two occasions to consider speaker training for Cord Blood banking company.
