Expert is proficient and knowledgeable with energy efficient all electric injection molding machines made by: Engel, Sumitomo, Nissei, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Roboshot and Toyo.
Part design tends to be a compromise between part features, material resin, the injection molding process and tooling considerations. Expert has taught many classes and consults with part designers to address this complex interaction between and considers the overall impact on Design, Materials, Tooling and a means to produce economical parts via the Injection Molding Process.
Expert uses a systematic approach of defining a part into its basic design elements and the effects of improper design are considered and addressed.

1. Case status unknown as participated up to mediation. This arbitration arises out of the acquisition by The HC Companies, Inc. of the assets of Myers Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of injection molded plastic plant pots, pursuant to an Asset Purchase Agreement. The Buyer served an Indemnification Claim Notice to the Seller. The Buyer claims that numerous items of Tangible Personal Property valued in excess of $50,000 were not in good maintenance or repair. According to the Buyer, the Seller is in breach of contract and requests $10,144,445 in losses related to the deficiencies for which for which the Sellers have agreed to indemnify Buyer pursuant to the Asset Purchase Agreement. Expert opined on status of injection molding machinery, injection molding tooling and auxiliary equipment that made up a substantial dollar amount of the claim. The Law Offices of Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP represented Myers Industries, Inc., et al. 2. Dispute settled out of court. In preparation for a lawsuit, Orbital Plastics Consulting (Orbital) was retained by Ahhmigo, Inc. to review a 32-cavity hot runner plastic injection mold that produces a part called the “Shell”. This plastic part is used in one or more of Ahhmigo’s current product line. Orbital wrote a summary report based on the review of the 3-D mold designs, PDF files as well as viewing the tooling in a production environment. Ahhmigo alleged that the tooling was substandard and not built to industry standards and severely limited their ability to put tooling into production with a reasonable degree of manufacturing confidence. We continued to provide support in developing new tooling, suppliers, alternative materials, capability studies and part design changes. 3. Case settled out of court. Sued their insurance provider for fire damage to injection molds to make toothbrush product line. Went to Mexico City to inspect molds and provided evidence to conflict with plaintiff’s lawsuit. Basically no fire damage to molds. More examples available upon request. |
