Expert is a subject matter expert in hazardous area classification design and hazardous location product development and installation. He has experience in both NEC division and IEC zone methods of hazardous area classification. He has developed several industry recognized training programs for hazardous area classification and the product standards and installation requirements required with hazardous locations. He is a member of the Canadian Electrical Code Part I Subcommittee on Section 18 (Hazardous Locations), the CSA Integrated Committee on Hazardous Locations (ICHL) for hazardous locations product standards developement and a member of the Standards Council of Canada Section 31J “Mirror Committee” providing technical comments to the on-going development of the IEC 60079 series of standards related to hazardous locations. He has written several publications on the topic of hazardous area classification. He has experience in oil and gas production, refining, mining, waste water treatment and other industries where flammable gases and combustible dusts are handled.
