Expert, a Mechanical Engineer and MBA (Materials Management), carries with him a rich experience of 20 years in Strategic Purchasing & Supply Chain Management, ranging from Supplier Selection Process to Supplier Performance Measurement.

Expert is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has an expertise in ISO9000, TS16949, ISO14000 Quality Management Systems. He was on the Examiner's Panel of IMC's RBNQA which assesses Overall Excellence of Businesses in India. RBNQA is an Indian equivalent of Malcom Baldridge and Deming Award.

Expert has been heading the Purchasing function of a large auto-conglomerate in India, and his initiatives have resulted in a cost reduction of 2- 5% for Raw Materials consecutively for 4 years. He has led a team of purchasing professionals of 55 engineers, spread across 7 different manufacturing locations which has resulted into a very cost-competitive, quality oriented supply chain of 330 suppliers. Categories of various commodities and parts handled by Expert are steel tubes, bright bars, sintered parts, springs, stamped parts, rubber parts, plastic parts, aluminum casting, oil seals, forgings, machined parts, sheet metal fabrication, etc.

Expert also carries a significant expertise in Global Sourcing, especially from cost-competitive manufacturing from China and Thailand. With deep knowledge of various Free Trade Agreements in the world, ExpertPawar deploys it to bring down the cost of parts by strategic sourcing.

Expert believes in Process-Oriented approach and has expertise in developing various Supply Chain Processes right from Supplier Identification to Performance Measurement. He is a trained expert in Value Engineering and deployed in Value Engineering Techniques to various parts successfully.

Expert has also championed the cause of Quality Circles and has facilitated his teams winning Gold Medals at division levels, state levels, regional level QC competitions, repeatedly.

JIT, Single Soucring, Vendor Managend Inventory, Comprehensive Cost Reduction programs through out the supply chain are a few of the initiatives launched by ExpertPawar. As a Global Sourcing head, Expert has initiated China & Thailand Sourcing Strategy for the organization which resulted in direct and indirect savings in raw material cost. Direct saving was on account of purchase of key commodities and parts from China and Thailand suppliers, while indirect saving on account of pricing correction of Indian suppliers due to competition from Chinese/ Thai Supplier base.

Due to his expertise on Free Trade Agreements, the strategic purchasing from FTA countries had also resulted into significant savings. The global sourcing strategy deployed by Expert encompasses time horizon of 3-5 years, which takes into account speculation on exchange rates, government policies, FTA phases, changes in customs duties etc.

Global sourcing program deployed by Expert was the result of a detailed critical study, SWOT analysis of Indian supplier base and SWOT of Chinese/Thai suppliers.

Due to his expertise is various manufacturing processes in meachanical engineering and costing thereof coupled with exposure to raw material pricing behaviour, ExpertPawar has adequate experience in estimating the costs of the manufactured parts.
