Array
Product safety:
A small fire in a domestic dishwasher. There had been a recall of this type of appliance but not of this model. My involvement proved that the existing recall notice needed to be expanded to include a wider range of models.
Insurance dispute:
A tradesman without liability insurance was facing ruin after a fire that may have involved work that he had previously done. The insurance adjuster was vigorously pursuing the man for compensation. My involvement proved that the adjuster had not carried out a full and proper investigation of the fire and thus had no grounds to offset costs against the tradesman.
Falsely accused:
A man of good character stood accused of arson with intent to endanger life. He had no faith in his solicitor so found me via the internet. I found that the Police and Fire Service investigation was severely flawed. The case was dismissed.
Coffee shop:
A small fire had occurred that involved two counter-top water boilers. The fire service had decided the fire had been caused by one of the boilers. Both manufacturers denied it had been their appliance. I ascertained that niether boiler had caused the fire and that the cause had most likely been deliberate by ignition of items between the two boilers.
Terrorist bomb:
A major truck bomb blast and subsequent fire killed over 50 people. There is a dispute with regard to the insurance. I was asked by the premises owner to investigate. I have found flaws in the insurance and forensic science investigation that warrant a challenge in the civil courts. The matter is still on-going.
