Being at the forefront of the fire safety engineering profession, he is able to share his expertise and inside knowledge to benefit you in design, construction and safety.
Design guidance and a case presented to satisfy the functional requirements relating to external fire spread. A high rise residential building in Manchester, providing a case to extended travel distances and opening the internal configuration of the residential units.Provided the design justification in decreasing the fire performance of a structure and number of cores during the concept design.Fire Risk Assessment – Using PAS 79 and other appropriate documentation. Investigation into a process fire, providing alternatives in passive and active fire protection.

Responsibilities:Identify projects, assess the amount and complexity of the work required and produce fee proposals, and design statements for potential projects.Bring together and lead specialist engineers in fire safety, ensuring that the right core skills are utilised and identify any deficiencies so that these can be addressed in their appraisal. Develop concept solutions into a detailed fire strategy suitable for submission to regulatory authorities, apply fire knowledge and logic to analyse or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions, this is achieved by a desk top study or via on site inspections. Carry out fire related calculations in support of the fire strategy proposals with the ability to research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information related to fire ignition, development, and extinguishment. Produce written documentation that clearly sets the aims of the fire strategy and interprets technical details for comprehension by non-technical/fire orientated design team members. Develop expertise in delivering fire safety engineering solutions in a multi-disciplinary environment with solid experience in developing fire strategies, undertaking engineering analysis and applying performance based designs. Be commercially aware of the financial limits on a project to keep within a fee budget and within time constraints. Maintain a good working relationship with clients to encourage repeat business through the ability to work closely with others as part of a larger team on multiple projects with other professional engineers, often not under their direct control. |
