Expert is the former Head of Fingerprint Services for Northamptonshire Police and has managed a Fingerprint Bureau with 20 professional members of staff with a range of specialism's and with a budget of £650,000 per year. Expert has represented Northamptonshire Police on Local, Regional and National Working Groups and has presented on the subject of Fingerprints and Fingerprint Technologies both at locations in the U.K. and as far away as Beijing, China.
Expert also undertook the redesign and refurbishment of the Fingerprint Development Laboratory and have "project managed" major computer installations such as NAFIS (now IDENT1) and Livescan for the Force.
Expert has an excellent working knowledge of the National Fingerprint Computer System (IDENT1), Livescan and other computerised AFIS systems; he also has an expert knowledge of all treatments and procedures used in a Fingerprint Development Laboratory.
Expert is an experienced crime scene investigator. He has attended at many hundreds of crime scenes ranging from "Theft of Motor Vehicle" to numerous scenes of a more serious nature, including murder. He has also attended scenes in the guise of scene manager after the initial CSI examination, where a more technical and specialised examination is required from the Fingerprint Development Laboratory.
Expert is currently working with the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime, supporting and mentoring the Fingerprint Section of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Nigeria, involving trips to Nigeria to write policies and guidelines, make recommendations as to equipment and to assist with ongoing training requirements.
