He is considered by many as an expert in the field of Ion Chromatography. He has worked with this technology since 1980, nearly since its inception.

He is an accomplished applications development chemist and has developed applications in 17 different markets for the separation and detection of various anions, cations, amines, transition metals, carbohydrates, organic acids, and amino acids to name a few general categories. He has developed methods for speciation for selenium, chromium and arsenic using IC and IC/ICPMS. He has worked with applications for detection requirements below the part per trillion level and has worked with all types of matrices. He has developed separations utilizing IC to solve next to impossible problems having Big Ion / Little Ion presence in high purity matrices. He developed methods for sulfur speciation in a unique process and has worked on numerous separations long before these became more commonly known. He operated a successful specialty separations laboratory directly for this purpose.

He is accomplished in utilizing all IC operating and detection schemes including conductivity, suppressed conductivity, UV/Vis, Electrochemical, Pulsed Amperometric, Fluorescence and coupled technologies of IC/ICPMS and IC/MS interfacing. He has written numerous proprietary documents on Ion Chromatography, has published several documents on the subject, has presented numerous papers on various subjects within the Ion Chromatography field and has served on several international panels for Ion Chromatography discussions.

He has pushed the development of various IC column types and worked with the manufacturer to accomplish and test the various columns developed. He has pushed the development of various sample preparation techniques and tested real world the various sample preparation techniques.

His applications have been used by many companies, research organizations, and laboratories worldwide. He has worked in an advisory role to some of the top IC companies and IC vendor/suppliers in the world. He enjoys helping people choose the right instrumentation for thier application and helping them utilize the instrumentation to the fullest extent possible to accomplish their purposes.

Expert provided in-depth technical review of a company's products and processes making recommendations which led to a restructuring of the company technical portfolio, improvements in their manufacturing process and refocused their sales process and marketing portfolio. Expert developed the materials and facilitated the executive training for one of the largest environmental testing corporations in the world to improve team development, internal and external communications and strengthen executive leadership. Expert developed the quality control protocol and real-time application for a beverage after refining the instrumentation parameters and column chemistry for successful implementation. He developed new protocol for the analysis in various chemistries utilized by one of the largest Food and Beverage companies in the world. He provided the technical expertise to implement the methodology at several locations in North America. He provided the implementation documents for the successful implementation. Expert is a consultant with the US Dept of Labor to facilitate cross-functional training for various groups supported by the department. His contracts have been extended multiple times because of his successes in this area. Expert has developed soft skills training for one of if not the largest non-profit organization in the US for the purposes of training their membership new job skills. He and his team deliver the training under contract with the organization in multiple locations.
