Request Expert

Expert is a Board Certified and Residency Trained Emergency Physician. Has been working clinically since 2003, and was an Assistant Professor, Division of Emergency Medicine at Duke University for nearly two years. He is board eligible in Emergency Medical Services/Disaster Medicine.

He was a former US Army Flight Surgeon and he is a current Aerospace Medicine Physician in the US Air Force Reserves. He is the current Chief of Medical Staff and Senior Flight Surgeon at the 916th Aerospace Medicine Squadron and is responsible for administrative oversight of medical staff credentialing, privileging, and peer review processes. He also supervises Medical Staff regulations, the quality and scope of medical care, the utilization of medical resources, and medical policy and planning. Expert has combat experience as a Battalion Flight Surgeon and Medical Director with 2-135th General Support Aviation BN, C Co MedEvac. He is also a former Chief of Aviation Medicine for Nebraska Army National Guard, and served as Medical Director for Critical Care Air Transport Team out of McChord AFB, WA.

Expert is an Emergency Physician dealing with EMS and communications daily. He was also a US Army Flight Surgeon who served as medical director of two Air Ambulance companies of the 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion. He is an Emergency Physician and former Army Flight surgeon familiar with US Civilian and Military Health Care systems. He also has international experience in New Zealand and Australian health care systems.

Expert has extensive clinical experience and medicolegal experience from his time spent in law school (did not finish degree in law). He deals with life and death decisions on a daily basis in the emergency department and consults colleagues and medical professionals with regards to medical ethics on a daily basis. Expert developed and implemented a tele-medicine program for flight medics and international healthcare personnel (Coalition Forces) working in austere environments in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Expert is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Fellowship Board Certified in Emergency Medical Systems (EMS/Disaster Management). He has medical director experience as Battalion Flight Surgeon and Medical Director for Air Ambulance, C Co, 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion and as Chief of Aviation Medicine for State of Nebraska in the US Army National Guard. More recently, he is a current Aerospace Medicine physician and a Senior Flight Surgeon in the US Air Force Reserves and he served as Medical Director of the Critical Care Air Transport Team with the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron at McChord AFB, WA.

He has an avid interest in Medicolegal Risk Management: Practices, Clinical Decision Making and Risk Stratification for colleagues in Emergency Department to help insulate and manage risk for litigation with regards to Medical Practice.He set up a telemedicine program for flight medics in Al Kut, Iraq who were caring for an international contingent of soldiers in austere conditions.He trained in jungle search and rescue training and set up screening clinics in Belize, Central America, and currently is working in New Zealand for more International Experience. He works as an American Consultant to practioners and students in training.He has consulted colleagues and other healthcare providers with regards to medical practice on the international stage. He has provided expert opinion and deposition testimony for an Aeromedical Transport case that is currently being litigated.
