Expert is a dual discipline engineer who is cross-trained in both mechanical and electrical engineering, and has thirty-plus years of "hands-on" experience in the development of both industrial and consumer products. His industrial experience focuses on specialized instrumentation, textile printers and mailing equipment, while his consumer product experience includes vending machines, printers, and facsimile. The early portion of his career was spent in instrumentation and product design, and he later served in various project management positions including product development and R&D. He has directed the development of numerous printer and facsimile products utilizing an array of technologies which include thermal transfer, daisywheel, inkjet, laser and dot-matrix printing techniques. Industrial printer developments include both thermal transfer and inkjet technologies. Vending machine experience includes development of coin changer mechanisms, dispensing mechanisms, bill acceptors, and concept derivation. His consumer product management experience includes implementation of the value analysis method for achieving design realizations at lowest cost, and pioneering the utilization of "direct CAD" prototyping methodology. He holds 18 patents.
