An Alternating generator is a machine which converts the given input mechanical power into electrical power. An Alternating generator consists of an stationary armature and a rotating field. The armature is made up of silicon steel laminations to reduce the hystersis and eddy current losses.Copper coils or strips are used for making armature winding.Field system may be salient or non-salient depending upon the type of application of an Alternating generator.
An Alternating transformer which converts the voltage from one level to other with the same frequency. A single phase Alternating transformer has two core limbs made up of cold rolled grain oriented steel or silicon steel. The windings are wound over the limbs and these are called primary and secondary. He has developed energy efficient transformers using optimal design techniques.
He has developed a new technology for making simple actuation using simple design techniques for rotary as well as linear actuation with easy control systems. These tchniques may be useful for flow control in Automoiles. He has given this consultancy technology for manufacturing industries through his college.By implementing the new materials for this type of actuator the cost will be reduced.
He has developed a new technique for making the single phase winding for 1/5 hp AC single phase motor used for table top grinder. Due to this techinique implementation the cost of the same motor reduces in the year 2002 and recently this type of winding is used in coimbatore city of Tamilnadu, India. He is the specialist in the development of compact type of AC motor with high effeciency which is more important for the Industries nowadays.
He has developed a new technology for compact size of dc motor using simple design techniques. He has given this consultancy technology for manufacturing industries through his college. By implementing the new materials for this type of dc motor the cost will be reduced.
