FUZZY LOGIC. In addition to designing a number of fuzzy logic-based controllers, Expert has invested a significant amount of time to teaching fuzzy logic and its applications to undergraduate engineers. Expert firmly believes that any engineer with a bachelor's degree is capable of understanding the foundations of fuzzy logic and is capable of applying it to any number of areas. He has developed a NSF-sponsored laboratory for the instruction of fuzzy logic.
MICROPROCESSOR APPLICATIONS. Expert has extensive teaching and practical experience in the application of microprocessor and microcontroller technology to control applications. This includes all facets of this field, from specification and design, to programming and troubleshooting. His areas of specific application include NASA windtunnels, liquid nitrogen supply systems, Army Corps of Engineer navigation locks, and fuzzy logic control applications.
ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE PLANNING. The primary area of Expert's PhD research involved the generation of robot assembly sequence plans without benefit of specific knowledge of the robotic agent being used to implement the plan. This required an extensive knowledge of robotics and computational geometry.
He developed a software library for managing internalized text that could easily switch from language to language.He developed a prototype for a telephone headset application.He wrote installation and operating manuals for a portable hydraulic tester.He wrote white papers and developed testing procedures for a military avionics system.
