Compressed Gas Handling
ID: 108287
Massachusetts, USA
After managing the operation of many specialty gas synthesis and purification processes, he has acquired particular knowledge of the process gases used by the semiconductor industry. He has specific expertise with metal hydride gases such as arsine, phosphine, silane, germane, but has also worked with cyanogen, carbonyl sulfide, hydrogen iodide, and hydrogen selenide.
Expert has first-hand experience with handling, purifying, and disposing of most specialty or industrial gases. He can answer questions on gas handling safety issues. He is familiar with common and rare gas products, including methane, butane, ethylene, butene, propane, propylene, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, halocarbon gases, chlorine, sulfur dioxide, sulfur hexafluoride, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, amines, and many others. He has designed, constructed, and managed the operation of processes for manufacturing sodium metal dispersions. He is intimately familiar with the various markets in which these products find use; for example, PCB abatement, etching of Teflon or other fluoropolymers, and specialty chemical manufacture.
He is thoroughly familiar with the production of active sodium solutions. Commercially available products of this type include Fluoro-Etch, Tetra-Etch, Tetra-Prep, Poly-Etch, and Poly-Etch W. He can answer questions on the preparation and use of these kinds of products for the etching of Teflon wire and printed circuit boards, as well as other fluoropolymer materials.
A key player in the design of one of the first commercial-scale clean room gas filling facilities, he has expertise with the preparation, filling, and troubleshooting of gas cylinders in a clean room environment. This facility had to provide a clean filling area that met class 100 requirements, but also provide protection to personnel and the environment.
