CEMENT TECHNOLOGY. Expert's background is in manufacturing processes in cement production. His experience is in various areas of process engineering, including equipment application and selection; design and development of process flow sheets; relations with vendors; field testing and data analysis; pilot scale modeling of production processes; development of advanced pyroprocessing equipment. This experience expands also into the areas of processing minerals, such as lime, phosphates, clay, and waste disposal.

CEMENT (CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL); PORTLAND CEMENT. Expert has substantial experience in analysis and modification of properties of Portland cement affecting its application in concrete construction. His experience includes development of special compositions for specific applications; analysis and diagnosis of degradation of cement-based materials under service conditions; prevention of such degradation using anti-corrosion treatment of concrete and reinforcement; and quality control in production and field applications.

SILICA; SILICATE CHEMISTRY. Expert's primary area of expertise in silicate chemistry is phase equilibria, especially at elevated temperatures, as applied to high temperature reactions of formation clinker (Portland cement) in a variety of processes. He is knowledgeable regarding crystallochemistry of silicates, such as calcium silicates (Portland cement), alumosilicates (structural ceramics, refractories); applications in the production of commercial products and modification of their properties. Expert has conducted chemical analysis of silicate composites with applications in quality control and diagnosis of degradation of structural materials in service.
