Catalytic Organic Chemistry
ID: 107574
New Jersey, USA
He provides his clients advice on optimized manufacturing procedures and on equipment selection, installation, and operation. He has worked with issues on material balances, analytical determinations, impurities control, and environmental concerns.
Having worked extensively with the deactivation of supported precious metal catalysts, Expert can answer in-depth questions on regeneration processes. He has provided services and studies on the prevention of catalyst deactivation via sintering, fouling, and poisoning.
Expert uses state-of-the-art analytical techniques for determining precious metal content in virgin and spent catalysts, liquid and solid by-products, and process effluents as part of plant quality control efforts. He provides advice on establishing routine and non-routine instrumental characterization techniques for the structure of supports, virgin catalysts, and spent or deactivated products. He has recommended and established evaluation procedures and methods for powdered and particulate catalysts.
Expert has extensive expertise with the development, manufacture, and supply of precious metal catalysts. He has selected reagents, raw materials, and supports and has prepared precious metal salts and solutions for use as starting materials. He is familiar with the purchase, installation, and debugging of pilot plant and commercial plant manufacturing equipment.
Expert provides his clients with technical advice on the development of precious metal catalysis processes such as hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, oxidation, isomerization, reductive alkylation, dehydrohalogenation, and decarbonylation. Experienced with catalyst selection, Expert is familiar with the nature of precious metals and catalyst supports including the aspects of chemical composition, geometry, and physical and chemical properties. He can answer questions on process development starting with laboratory set-up and testing, scale-up to pilot plant and commercial plant, and slurry phase versus fixed bed operation of commercial reactors.
Well versed in purchasing virgin catalysts from vendors, Expert can provide advice on sampling, analysis, and reproducibility studies. He is knowledgeable of loading and unloading techniques at the plant level. He has worked with separation (both filtration and centrifugation), cleaning, homogenization, and preparation for the precious metal recovery (refining) cycle. He has monitored and collaborated with the spent precious metal catalyst refiners on the optimization of precious metal returns.
