Expert has been court qualified to provide biomechanics analysis of various incidents, including: Accident Reconstruction, Motorcycle Accidents, Human Factors, Concussion, Football Helmets, Brain Injury in Sports, Motorcycle Helmets, Biomechanics of Head and Brain Injury, Slips & Falls
Expert earned a Ph.D. in Ergonomics with specialization in biomechanics from Loughborough University in England in 2002. He has practiced in the field of biomechanics for over twenty years as a senior federal researcher. In addition, Expert is board certified (CPE # 725) through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics.
Expert has provided biomechanics expert witness Deposition and Trial Testimony on more than 90 occasions in civil and criminal cases. His expertise has been recognized by courts in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas and Great Britain. The biomechanical analysis methods that Expert utilizes are published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and have survived Frye and Daubert challenges.
Expert was employed by the Employer in Tampa, FL as a senior researcher for 20 years, culminating in the position of Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Laboratory. In addition he has held a courtesy faculty appointment as Assistant Professor in the University of South Florida College of Engineering for 15 years and is currently the Research Director of BRAINS, Inc. To date, Expert’s work has been published in six book chapters and 30 peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented at more than 100 national and international conferences .
Expert has conducted extensive research on the biomechanics of head and brain injury, including helmets, and has published peer-reviewed scientific articles in this field.
Expert has conducted extensive research on the biomechanics of head and brain injury and has published peer-reviewed scientific articles in this field.
As both an expert witness in biomechanics and certified accident reconstructionist for automobile accident and motorcycle crashes, Expert is highly qualified to serve as a testifying expert in both roles. This capability is rather unique, since the evaluation of motor vehicle accidents typically requires both skills.
Qualifications:
Engineering Dynamics Corp (EDC) - Certification in Accident Reconstruction
Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) - Certification in Reconstruction and Analysis of Motorcycle Accidents
Institute for Police Training & Management (IPTM) - Certification in Motorcycle Crash Investigation
Motorcycle accident analysis is a highly specialized discipline in which Expert is eminently qualified. In addition to holding a PhD in Ergonomics (Human Factors), with a specialization in Biomechanics, Expert has more that 25 years and 200,000 miles of experience with motorcycles, including operation and maintenance/repair.
