Request Expert

Expert has worked with children and young people who exhibit serious challenging behaviour for over 20 years with 12 years experience as a school principal managing a series of successful groups of schools. He has also advised government departments, local authorities and independent organisations on the development of policy, guidance and training.

He was a trustee of the National Control & Restraint (General Services) Association, and a co-opted member of the executive of NAES (the national association for schools catering for children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties). In 2002 he worked with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) as it set up the government scheme for accrediting organisations which train in physical interventions and he is now a Principal Tutor for Team-Teach, the largest independent training organisation in the UK. He advises government departments and his work is quoted in a number of official reports and guidance documents.

He lectures in schools, colleges and universities and has delivered training across the UK, Europe, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia. He has also written 14 books and published papers on positive and safe management of challenging behaviour which are extensively referenced in the literature.

Expert has prepared court reports and advised a number of professional bodies, appearing at the General Teaching Council, courts in England and Scotland and the High Court, London.
