Responsibilities:He assumed full ownership and management of the order to cash process across Asia Pacific (inc Japan). This includes order processing and verification, supply chain management (warehouse and transportation), billing and collections.There are currently 45 direct reports based in Asia supporting the $500m Asia Pacific business. A key output of the team is to provide regular visibility of the revenue, backlog and risk associated with the sales commitment, and action items to close the gap. More recently, a key achievement has been the successful integration of the acquired Nortel business into the current Avaya business, with zero impact on business revenue. Key achievements have included the implementation of an APAC wide supply chain model, reducing accounts receivable overdue by 90%, heavily reduce the turnaround time of product from 4 weeks to 1 week, reduction in quality claims and implementing a number of automated applications to ensure efficiency and visibility. In addition, the role helps to align sales, finance and other support organizations to focus on business growth, revenue management and cost reduction within the organization. To create the vision and architecture for the business in supporting the sales strategy in regards to supply chain, customer care and all other back office responsibilities. Primary focus is creating unsurpassed quality which leads to a reduction in overall costs. Challenges include supply chain efficiencies, customer communication efficiencies, integration of web based applications with legacy systems, creating visibility of our supply chain to our customers. Other challenges include supply chain cost reviews, warehouse placement decisions, freight forwarder decisions, and relationship development with over 80 business partners and distributors in APAC. In addition to the every day strategic development of the role, there are many other policy and audit requirements, including SOX compliance, revenue recognition policy adherence, export compliance, local law and import restrictions and all other internal and external audit requirements. |
